The Migration Process
You can either choose to do the migration manually or opt for an automated method, but let’s check the pre-migrations steps first.
Assuming that you have already bought the hosting space, the first step is to install WordPress. Then, install WooCommerce on your website. There are other ecommerce plugins available as well, but we will stick to WooCommerce here. Now, install any Magento to WordPress migration plugin.
Manual Method
The most basic and simple method to migrate your website to WordPress is with use of .csv file. In this method you first need to create a CSV file of the products, customers, pending orders stored in your Magento website. This file is then imported to WordPress.
The steps mentioned below explain the migration process.
You have to first purchase the WooCommerce import suite from its official site. Without this suite you will not be able to import the CSV file.
You now have to create a .csv file of the data that you wish to move. For this, first login to the administrator area on your Magento website and go to System>Import/Export. Here in the export section, choose the database entity that you have to export. Keep the file format as CSV. If you have to include or exclude any data, you can do it in the entity attributes section. Now, click on continue and proceed to import the CSV file to WordPress. This can be done from WooCommerce import suite. Now, select choose file to upload the CSV file you have to import. To start importing, click o upload file.
Semi-Automated Migration
To convert website to WordPress, you need to move the products, categories, orders, customers, etc. from the Magento website to the new platform.
The first step is to install and configure the migration plugin. The plugin can be configured from Tools > Import >Magento.

Next is database connection. Fill in the database credentials and click the “Test Connection” button to check the connection. In case Magento and WordPress are on separate servers, you shall copy the Magento database to WordPress. In this situation, fill the WordPress credentials and not the Magento.
Now, to import the data you first check if you want to change the default settings according to your needs. You can choose the settings options from the plugin page. Start the migration by clicking on the “Start/Resume” button. How much time the migration takes depends on the site size.
When the migration process is over, go to the new site and check if all the products, categories, images, etc. are there or not.
Paid Migration Service
If you are not comfortable doing the migration yourself in a manual or semi-automated way because of lack of time or you do not want to take any risk, then hire WordPress developer to do the job. They are professionals with lots of experience and do their job with perfection. You need not worry about anything, but just have to pay their fees.
Post Migration
Once the migration process is over, you just need to give some finishing touches.
First choose a theme that is compatible with your new WooCommerce site. Now move the WordPress files to the root directory of the server and the Magento files to a subdirectory. Finally, change the absolute paths in the WordPress database by using WP Migrate DB plugin.
Following the above process, you can easily convert website to WordPress and migrate your blog from Magento to WordPress.
